British and American English

Here you have a reflection on British and American English:

Dos mundos, un idioma

First Impressions Of England by an American person. A few months after moving to England from the States, these are his thoughts on some British customs. Can you name five issues he reflects on?

In 'An Englishman in New York' by Sting, you can read this:

'I'm an alien. I'm a legal alien'.

Why does he say this?

Here you can find some vocabulary differences:

British and American vocabulary

Can you name something called different in USA and Britain?

American Vs. British Words

Now you are ready to do exercises on p. 35.

Present Perfect and Past Simple.

The use of these tenses is very easy. Watch this short video and read the explanation on your workbook (p.102). Who volunteers to explain the difference?
